After months of near-silence, Rockstar finally moved. This is the first significant GTA 6 news in a long stretch, and it effectively locks the game in for its November 19, 2026 launch.
What Rockstar announced today
Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 pre-orders go live on Thursday, June 25, 2026, on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and at select physical retailers. The announcement came through a short reveal video built around the new cover art — not a gameplay trailer.
The official cover art
The cover leans into the classic GTA collage style. Jason and Lucia sit at the center above the title, in the series' signature purple-and-orange palette. Around them: a helicopter banking over a pastel skyline, a motorcycle mid-wheelie, a yellow supercar, and a gold-draped character. Nods to Leonida — the fictional Florida-inspired state — show up through flamingos and an alligator parked in the middle of it all.
You can view the official art on Rockstar's site at rockstargames.com/VI, where it is also available as downloadable artwork.
The Vice City clip — our best look yet
The detail many fans almost missed: Rockstar also slipped a short clip onto the official GTA 6 site. It is a brief flyover of Vice City, pulling back from the downtown skyscrapers out over an industrial park, a harbor, and apartment blocks across the bay.
What stands out is the density of vehicles — helicopters, planes, luxury yachts, and freight boats across the water and skyline. Players noted that the waterfront ferris wheel matches a location teased in a screenshot last year, so this is a fresh angle on a stretch of the city the community has already been mapping. It is not a trailer, but as a pre-launch teaser it is the most detailed moving look at Vice City so far.
What is still unknown
Rockstar left the biggest questions open:
- Price. The single biggest secret. Speculation has run from $69.99 up to $99.99, but Rockstar said nothing. Expect the answer on June 25.
- Editions. No word on standard vs. deluxe or collector's editions.
- PC version. Not announced. Historically Rockstar brings major titles to PC after the console window.
What it means
Take-Two's leadership had repeatedly said GTA 6 marketing would ramp up once summer arrived. Today is the first concrete proof. A pre-order date a week out, fresh artwork, and a city clip is exactly the steady drip that tends to precede a bigger reveal. Whether the June 25 price drop arrives with a third trailer is the open question — but the marketing machine has clearly started.
